As the remnants of Ida bringing downpours and flooding to the region, a Tornado Watch is now in effect for much of the region.

It lasts until 1 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, and covers:

New York:

  • New York City
  • Westchester County
  • Rockland County
  • Long Island

Connecticut:

  • Fairfield County
  • New Haven County
  • Middlesex County
  • New London County

Isolated wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour are possible, said the National Weather Service.
